Hey, I'm Ale!

I'm a software developer from Colombia currently between Spain and Germany, working full-time at FastAPI Cloud.

I love building things, from legos to software, along with art in all its forms, and exploring the world.

Selected Work

Things I've built and contributed to lately.

Full-Stack FastAPI Template

As part of the FastAPI team, I've been contributing to the template since late 2023. I built the current React frontend from scratch, replacing the old Vue one, led its migrations to Chakra UI v3 and then shadcn/ui with Tailwind, set up the end-to-end tests with Playwright, and moved package management to Bun and uv workspaces.

Palim

Palim is a side project I'm building for myself and some friends to keep track of our favorite media, including books, movies, and TV shows, all centralized in one place. It's built with React + TypeScript and FastAPI. Currently, it only works by invitation. It's still a work in progress, but I'm really happy with how it's turning out so far!

Through My Lens

I like to capture life as it happens. I shoot film but also enjoy digital photography. Here are some photos from my collection.
